#12306 - 2001 Mustang GT - Supercharged When Roush Performance wanted to improve the power, performance, and ease of installation of their supercharger system, they went to the best source, Magnuson Products. Magnuson is a premiere builder of superchargers, and the only company that builds them for late model Corvettes, GTO’’s, and the Cadillac CTS V’’s. Their superchargers are sold around the world under various brands, including Roush, and provide outstanding performance upgrades while maintaining bullet-proof reliability. In 2001, Roush sent one of their superchargers to the engineers at Magnuson for modification and installation on a 2001 Mustang GT. Bob Roese, Magnuson’’s sales manager, helped coordinate the effort. During the installation, Magnuson engineers changed the spark timing, injector timing, injectors, and made various other engine upgrades to keep it street legal in all 50 states. With the horsepower increase came the need for upgraded components throughout the car. Here is a partial list

After purchasing the car in 2006, we have made additional upgrades including: ““Eliminator”” automatic transmission –– which handles well over 600 ft. lbs. of torque. It comes with a number of internal upgrades over the stock automatic, including extra heavy duty clutchs, hardened input shaft, a special pressure solenoid, which will withstand higher pressure than the stock solenoid and a performance pressure regulator spring. The roller clutch was removed and replaced with a heavy- duty mechanical diode with a Spiral "Plus" Ring Kit. Two extra clutches are added to the direct clutch drum which provides 33% more holding power using the Red Eagle Power Pack clutches. This transmission also has a Fairbanks high performance TransAction Kit and an oversize overdrive servo. The stock overdrive band was replaced with a carbon fiber band. A new heavy-duty torque converter was included when the transmission was built. It will easily handle over 600 ft. lbs. of torque. New Kumho rubber on all four corners –– with less than 600 miles on them. New brake pads and rotors replaced within the last 600 miles. Added caster/camber plates to correct bump steer Recent alignment, tune up, mass air sensor cleaning, etc. The car is nicely optioned from the factory with leather interior, 6 disc CD changer, factory AC, power windows, tilt, cruise, and all the usual luxury options. Almost $17K was invested in upgrades and improvements. It is exceptionally fast, and makes a terrific highway cruiser, and one of the meanest automatic Mustang GT’’s on the planet. This one of a kind Mustang is a true prototype for the ‘‘01 Roush supercharged Mustangs, and certainly a collector’’s item.
